Around the World in 80 Days

I've been hearing great things about the play that's on at Taproot Theatre in Seattle right now. It's being called one of their best shows to date. Here's the synopsis.

Get ready for a madcap, cross-continental race against time packed with adventure, danger, suspense and love at Taproot Theatre Company with the regional premiere of Around the World in 80 Days. Jules Verne’s 19th century novel comes to life before your eyes in Mark Brown’s wildly theatrical adaptation. A bet to travel around the world in 80 days is a fool’s venture in 1872, unless you happen to be named Phileas Fogg. Villainy, a damsel in distress and an array of transportation disasters are met with Victorian virtue and a precision pocket watch in Brown’s comic play that’s part James Bond, part Lord Peter Wimsey and pure fun.

I hear that it's quite fun, with 5 actors playing over 30 different characters. Better yet, it's pretty cheap. Tickets for those 25 and under are only $10, which is a steal for theatres in this area! Also, if you have a teenager who would be interested in going, they can sign up for Teen Tix on Taproot's website and get in for $5.

Find out more about the play here.

When: Friday, May 22, through Saturday, June 20
